Hello everyone! ❤
It has been awhile since I last wrote an entry related to food. To keep everything simple and sweet, I will let the pictures do the speaking instead. In case anyone of you is wondering why most of the shots were taken indoors, I can only blame the sudden heavy downpour that day. Shop Wonderland, also known as The Pantry is not only a cafe, it also houses retail, florist as well as workshops, along the street of Haji Lane.

With their wide selection of cakes, I was definitely spoilt for choice! I settled on my Cherry Blossom cake since being a seasonal special, it wasn't listed on the regular menu. As usual, I ordered a cup of hot latte to go with it while my friend went for the Gula Melaka, which was slightly more towards the dry end for my liking.

Another friend of ours came slightly later but her Honeycomb Blackcurrant was actually one of the best out of the three cakes. The sweetness and texture control of the cake was all on point.

It would be nice if they serve handmade cakes since I have understood that their cakes come from suppliers. Nevertheless, if they select the best cakes from famous bakeries over Singapore, why not too? The best of the best under one roof they say. We enjoyed our time at the 2nd level of the shop where we were accompanied by the aroma of the various flowers around.

Candles, plates displayed on these vibrant green racks as well as cards at the bottom picture are all available for sale as well!

We also managed to get a short glimpse of the florist at work in her little corner surrounded by the beautiful dried flowers.

It was a pity that I could not taste their strawberry shortcake because it was not available on the shelves. I only spotted it being served when we were making our way out of the shop. A tip for all of you would be to check with the shopkeeper on the availability of cakes offered at that day before deciding on what you are going to get!

You should drop by this cafe to check out their cakes for yourself as well as the cosy environment they have in store for you! I will definitely  be going back to try my strawberry shortcake when I am free again!

Hello everyone!
It has been a great pleasure to be invited for a food-tasting session at SIFU, a cafe-restaurant with inspiration from the Hong Kong's dining scene, a "cha chan ting". SIFU debuted in Singapore back in July 2014 and they have now revised their dishes to cater better to local preferences. Comfort food priced at affordable prices, ranges from Hong Kong's favourite beef stew and noodle dishes to all-day dim-sum delicacies. I can't wait to introduce some of my favourite dishes here.

Hello everyone!
Two weeks back, Aaron and I went to try one of the best waffles in town as recommended by his friend. Sunday Folks! A localized specialty desserts café. It was located conveniently close to the Holland station so we didn't have to do much walking. And it's been awhile since we managed to find some time to chill at a cafe. We didn't take much pictures though*

Hello everyone! ✞
Last Saturday, my friends and I went to Brunetti to have some high-tea before dinner. The wide collection of cakes is to die for! There's simply too many to choose from. I've always wanted to try out their desserts ever since I took more notice of this shop at Tanglin Mall. Look at the total amount of desserts the three of us chose altogether!

Happy birthday to me on 8th July ✌
My birthday usually falls on school days or days with events, but this year it wasn't! It was on a weekday and I'm really thankful for the fact that Aaron took a day off from army to celebrate this very day with me. I couldn't be more appreciative and happy at the same time for his actions. ❥ This year, both of us celebrated at Basilico, located at Regent Hotel as suggested by Aaron since I wanted to go for some pasta. ♕

Hello everyone! ✞
Can I say that last Saturday's trip down to Antoinette was more of a recce for my upcoming 22nd mini-birthday celebration to come in two months' time? The pavilion was already occupied by a group of friends celebrating one of their 21st birthday during tea time so it was basically a no-no entrance for walk-in customers like us. The reason why I've wanted to go to the branch located at Orchard Road, Palais Renaissance was mainly because of the pavilion.

UPDATE: Antoinette Palais Renaissance has been closed but you can still visit their other outlet. For more updates, you can check out their Facebook page here~

Hello everyone! ✞
I have recently returned back from Taipei and here I am, sharing with you one of the must-visit pâtisseries in Taipei, Taiwan - La Douceur Pâtisserie! Just so you do not know, I'm a fan of macarons and sweets!

I've always wanted to take a short afternoon retreat and experience how it feels like to have high tea in another country and with this pâtisserie being frequently on the search online, I know for sure that this is a place not to be missed during this Taipei trip. At the same time, Ladyironchef has always been a blog where I always browse around for places to dine in because of his generally unprejudiced opinions and that was another reason why I've arrived to my decision to visit La Douceur.

Hello everyone! ✞
Recently, my boyfriend and I have been visiting various cafes and I always spend some time to pen down my thoughts to share with all of you. This time, we had our brunch over the weekend at the North-east part of Singapore - Lola's Cafe!

We reached Lola's at a late brunch timing and had to wait for approximately more than forty minutes for a seat. The cafe was full house and there was already a long queue of people in line before us. The queuing system at Lola's was quite unorganized and the rainy weather that day did not make it any better, be sure to head down earlier at around 10am to avoid the queues. But I guess good food makes people happier and the food did cheer us up instantly!

Hot chocolate for Aaron! - It's kinda powdery and not one of the smoothest he has drunk~

Caffe latte for me as usual ♥

My Breakfast butter croissant (S$13) ♥

Trust me, this is the real deal! Croissant may be difficult to eat without creating a mess on the table but still, you just have to try this! It may seem like a typical club sandwich wrapped with egg, ham and bacon but the real deal lies in the croissant - it's honey glazed at the bottom. Not to forget that the honey glazed ham and bacon are really soft in texture. I'm in heaven ♥

 Aaron's Avocado egg benedict (S$15)!

I took some bites from Aaron's dish and to my surprise, the Egg Benedict was not to my liking. I can't find out the reason why or perhaps I was just too occupied with my croissant.

I was actually really full after the "mains" but Aaron was so excited and he ordered two more desserts which he gobbled down mostly by himself.

Seasalt chocolate tart with coffee cream (S$5)

For those who love chocolate but have a fear that it might cause discomfort in your throat, you gotta try this! The chocolate is not only light in texture but the coffee cream and sea salt on top just compliment the overall taste as well.

Banana Earl Grey Tart (S$5)

This is a really unique tart where I've never tasted before in my life. The earl grey within gives a really moist feeling as well as its light fragrance as though you are literally drinking earl grey tea.

Outfit of the day✞

High collar heart stamped top ✞ Dip Drops
Past season Car tee ✞ Dip Drops
Past season floral culotte ✞ Rosebullet
Unicorn Tote Bag ✞ Blanc Blanche

I was kinda sick the previous two days so pardon my dressing.

I wouldn't mind travelling all the way to Kovan just for brunch and I definitely recommend you to head down to Lola's earlier to avoid the queuing. Do share with me your experience at Lola's Cafe!

Hello everyone! ✞
It has been a great pleasure and honour for myself that despite starting out my humble little blog only over a short span of eight months, I have been invited by Huntington Communicaations for a food tasting session last Friday, 14th March (White day) at Isetan Westgate, Basement Level one where all the Japanese delights are available. From time to time, Isetan organises different Japanese food fairs, ranging from Hokkaido, Kyushuu and more. This is the very first time that Isetan has collaborated with East Japan Marketing & Communications (jeki) to bring in Japanese Sweets Collection organized by jeki.

Hello everyone! ✞
It's been close to a week since I last blog and yes, it's another round of food experience. This time round, Aaron and I visited humble looking sushi bar by the name of Sushi Kanazawa, located at International Building. We have visited this place twice and this would mark our third one. Sushi Kanazawa was first recommended by his friend and we gave it a shot last year and we have since officially marked the restaurant as our favourite sushi buffet spot.

The concept here is that the chef can decide what you will have next.

Why do we like it so much?
First, the sashimi are really of high quality, freshly cut and served on the spot. Second, the rice tastes really different and appetising as compared to other Japanese restaurants out there which might have a slightly too vinegary taste (The rice here is said to be of high quality Japanese grains!). The buffet usually kick starts with a dish of Sashimi Moriawase - salmon, squid, tuna and mackerel.

Next was salmon sashimi sliced into even cubes paired with ponzu sauce which reminds me of the beef carpaccio from En Japanese dining bar. Mine was served in a little seashell plate. How cute!

Behold the chef's recommendation! Amaebi Mentaiko Aburi! It's beyond heavenly, the mentaiko and amaebi is torched and charred which gives it a strong aroma and it melts literally in your mouth when you place the whole thing inside your mouth. I would have to describe it as umamigasm, yes! So good that I had to order more! The Unagi Aburi was also one of the highlights of our time here~ ↓

Some delicious fruit jelly to end off the sumptuous buffet!

I had a change of hairstyle because Aaron mentioned that the Paris inspired Jetamie set would go better with twin braids instead of twintails. What's your view?

Hello everyone! ✞
Today, I'm back with my first brunch experience at the W39 Bistro & Bakery. I do eat brunches now and thern but never once, properly seated down in a cafe with a relaxing ambience. So Aaron and I just decided the day before that we would spend our Saturday chilling out, enjoying brunch in a comfortable place but at the same time, somewhere nearby. And that was when I found out W39 online and with the amount of good reviews provided, I had a feeling it was a place not to be missed and I was satisfied with my decision.

We arrived at W39 around 11+ and the cafe was already fully seated. There were also some people in line waiting for a table as well. After leaving down our particulars, we went off to the back to get a good outfit shot (mine of course).

We went back in a short while and they were ready to let us in. We were also notified that we have to finish everything by 1.30pm since the table had a reservation. This was how popular the cafe is! Aaron and I shared our table with another group of friends whom were having a birthday celebration that day. Coincidentally, we were actually celebrating Aaron's advanced birthday as well.

We ordered for ourselves Fluffy pancakes as well as Eggs benedict and we paired them up with a cup of cafe latte ($4.50) and long black ($3.90).

The fluffy pancakes ($9.50) were very fluffy as the name would suggest and came in three generous pieces. Aaron was quite satisfied at his second piece. However, the pancakes were a little lacking on the flavour which could be solved by the maple syrup and jam provided. Thus, adding whipped cream would be a good idea to make it taste even better.

The eggs benedict ($9.00) was matched perfectly with the hollandaise sauce, giving it a smooth feel along with the first bite. The sauce was abundant but there was not enough bread to soak in the yellow goodness. Also, the salad came with the sweet and tangy sauce that we suspect to be vinaigrette. I would definitely love to try this again the next time.

Everything seemed unsightly in the front view so this view was the best shot by Aaron after our sumptuous brunch. We took some quick shots before leaving the place in high spirits.

Breakfast is only served during the weekends & public holidays from 9am to 3pm. I would definitely recommend you to make a reservation before heading down to secure yourself your favourite spot. I can't wait to head back more often to try out other brunch or even dinner selections as well. Do share with me your experience at W39!
